During the distillation of the 1999 harvest, in the first months of the year 2000, we had the feeling that this vintage expressed aromas of a particular intensity.
We therefore wanted it to age separately, in a cellar dedicated to Bouteville: the Villeneuve Haut cellar. This long maturation in oak barrels has slowly allowed it to follow the characteristic stages so important to our method of making Grande Champagne.
Today it bridges the gap between the floral notes of Napoléon and the fruity character of Vieille Réserve – XO. The aromas become more intense, rounder, and fruitier; proof that long aging reveals the full depth of our Bouteville eaux-de-vie. It's a rich and flavorful cognac with a refreshing finish.
It's one of those discoveries that you like to share with family or friends.
