Paul Giraud Cognac

Paul Giraud Cognac is a distinguished family-owned estate located in Bouteville, a picturesque village in the heart of the Grande Champagne region, the premier cru of Cognac.

The Giraud family has been producing exceptional cognacs since 1635, spanning eleven generations, with seven of them bearing the name Paul.

The estate encompasses 50 hectares of Ugni Blanc vineyards, renowned for their finesse and aromatic complexity. The family's commitment to traditional methods is evident in their practices, including hand-picking grapes and employing double distillation in copper pot stills. The eaux-de-vie are aged in humid cellars, which imparts a distinctive floral character with notes of stone fruit, spice, and rancio.

In 1975, Paul and his son Paul-Jean embarked on independent marketing, aiming to showcase their rare and old cognacs without blending, preserving the unique characteristics of their Grande Champagne terroir. This initiative led to the establishment of the Paul Giraud brand in 1976, with their cognacs now distributed in over thirty-five countries worldwide.

Today, under the stewardship of Paul-Jean Giraud, the estate continues to thrive, producing a diverse range of cognacs, from VSOP to rare bottlings like Héritage, aged over 60 years. The Giraud family's dedication to quality and tradition ensures that each bottle embodies the rich history and exceptional terroir of the Grande Champagne region.
