Courvoisier VSOP was actually one of the first cognacs I tried, so at the time I didn’t really understand what was special about it. I had it again recently with some friends, though, and enjoyed it much more. It’s smooth, fruity and quite easy to drink.
Aroma
The aroma is soft and fruity, with ripe apricot, a little jasmine and some caramel in the background.
Taste
The floral notes mix nicely with a bit of almond and caramel, giving it a warmer, richer character. The texture is quite silky, and the whole thing feels well balanced without being too heavy.
Finish
The finish is soft, with the sweet notes fading gradually before a light touch of oak comes through at the very end. It leaves a warm, slightly dry aftertaste.

Overall (79)
A mixed bag for me there's something to appreciate, but no real wow factor. Feels more like it's coasting on the brand name than a drink that impresses on its own depth.
Aroma
On the nose I picked up peach and a light floral note, something like jasmine. Beyond that, ripe stone fruit comes through plum, apricot along with vanilla, caramel/toffee, and a bit of toasted almond.
Taste
Round and balanced on the palate the same peach and almond carry over from the nose, joined by caramel. Somewhere in the middle there's a light woody bitterness.
Finish
Medium-length finish, warm, with oak and light spice at the end, but without much staying power
