Normandin Mercier Cognac

Normandin Mercier is a renowned family-run Cognac house with a rich history that spans over 100 years. Located in the heart of the Grande Champagne region, the area that is known for producing the highest quality eaux-de-vie, Normandin Mercier has become a respected name in the world of cognac. The house’s roots can be traced back to 1870 when it was founded by the Normandin family, and it has been passed down through generations, maintaining a commitment to traditional methods of production while embracing innovation to stay ahead in the industry.

The estate is situated in the Grand Cru area of Grande Champagne, which offers exceptional terroir ideal for growing the Ugni Blanc grape variety that is the backbone of many of the finest cognacs. Over the years, the company has crafted an impressive portfolio of aged cognacs, from VS (Very Special) to the more exceptional XO (Extra Old) and vintage expressions. Their approach to blending is meticulous, drawing on a vast range of eaux-de-vie aged in oak barrels to create refined, balanced, and complex spirits.

Normandin Mercier’s dedication to quality can be seen in its hands-on approach to distillation and aging. They are known for their slow distillation process, which ensures that the essential flavors and characteristics of the grapes are carefully extracted. Aging is done in the traditional style using French oak casks, which adds depth and complexity to the final product.

the brand remains under the stewardship of the Mercier family, who continue to uphold the standards set by their predecessors. Their cognacs are recognized for their elegance, smoothness, and the fine balance of fruity, floral, and woody notes. The house also places a strong emphasis on sustainability, using organic farming methods where possible and focusing on the preservation of the environment.

Despite its long history, Normandin Mercier is still an active producer, continuing to thrive and innovate within the competitive world of fine spirits. Their dedication to quality and craftsmanship ensures that their cognacs remain highly sought after by collectors and connoisseurs alike.
