Merlet Sélection Les Hauts de Talmont is a limited-edition cognac created to showcase the individual character of the Bons Bois cru. The grapes come from vineyards near the Gironde estuary, where limestone soils and Atlantic influence shape the style of the eaux-de-vie.
This vintage cognac was distilled from Colombard grapes harvested in 2008. The Merlet family selected the spirit for its expressive personality, combining vibrant spice, mature oak and a distinctive freshness. Bottling at 48.2% preserves its intensity, structure and long aromatic development.
SERVICE
Merlet Sélection Les Hauts de Talmont is recommended neat, preferably served at room temperature in a tulip-shaped glass.
TASTING NOTES
Colour: Deep gold with warm amber and copper reflections.
Nose: Expressive and layered. Peppery spices appear first, followed by soft vanilla, toasted coffee and seasoned oak.
Palate: Full-bodied and energetic, with a firm opening that gradually becomes smoother. Vanilla, roasted nuances and dry wood shape the centre of the palate, while liquorice adds depth to the extended finish.
