Maxime Trijol Cognac

Maxime Trijol Cognac is a distinguished family-owned distillery with a rich history dating back to 1859. Established in Saint-Martial-sur-Né, in the heart of France's Cognac region, the house has remained under the stewardship of the Trijol family for six generations. This enduring legacy reflects a steadfast commitment to excellence and tradition in cognac production.

The Trijol family's journey began when they settled in the Grande Champagne cru, renowned for producing the finest cognacs. They quickly expanded their winemaking activities to include distillation, establishing an independent house capable of overseeing the entire production process—from vineyard to glass.

The estate benefits from chalky soils ideal for cultivating the Ugni Blanc grape, which imparts great finesse and exceptional aging potential to their eaux-de-vie. Maxime Trijol oversees every step of production:

- Viticulture: Cultivating their own vineyards in Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne. - Distillation: Utilizing twenty-two 2,500-liter copper pot stills. - Aging: Maturing the spirits in French oak barrels to develop complexity and depth.

This meticulous approach ensures that each cognac embodies the family's dedication to quality. The range includes expressions such as VS (Very Special), VSOP (Very Superior Old Pale), and XO (Extra Old), each offering a unique tasting experience. Notably, the XO Grande Champagne has received accolades like the Double Gold Medal at the 2018 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, underscoring its exceptional quality.

Maxime Trijol remains a testament to the family's enduring passion for cognac-making. Under the guidance of Jean-Jacques Trijol and his daughters, Anne-Sophie and Pauline, the distillery continues to honor its heritage while embracing modern techniques. Their cognacs are celebrated worldwide, reflecting a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation.
