Overall (81)
Martell VSOP lands pretty much where I expected: textbook balance, if a touch predictable. The structure is clean and there's enough oak to keep me interested, though it doesn't stray far from the standard VSOP script. Definitely a bottle I'd reach for when I want something reliable but not especially challenging.
Aroma
On the nose I get gentle oak layered with stone fruit, mostly peach and plum.
Taste
The palate leans into that oak-driven style with a nice thread of spice and some juicy apricot.
Finish
Finish is medium-length, a little more wood than fruit at the end. Not much evolution after the swallow but no harshness either just smooth sailing out

Overall (81)
A well-balanced and easygoing VSOP with a clear fruity character. The yellow fruit is the main focus, while the light oak and spice add just enough structure without taking over. It’s well put together and enjoyable, although it doesn’t have quite enough depth or complexity to push it into the excellent range.
Aroma
Ripe apricot, peach and plum come through first, with a fresh, juicy character. Underneath, there’s a subtle woody note and a little soft spice that make the nose feel more rounded.
Taste
Smooth and fruity, with apricot, plum and peach coming through first. There’s also a light woody and spicy side, which I liked the most.
Finish
Medium in length, with the ripe fruit slowly giving way to light oak and soft spice. It stays pleasant and balanced to the end, although it doesn’t develop much further after the main fruit notes.
