Louis Pearl is a Cognac brand created by Cave des Vignerons d’Oléron, a cooperative of winegrowers based on Île d’Oléron. The brand specializes in Cognacs made exclusively from eaux-de-vie produced from grapes grown on the island, expressing the distinctive maritime character of the Île d’Oléron terroir.
The Cognacs are produced at the Vignerons d’Oléron distillery using traditional Charentais stills and the traditional double-distillation method. The eaux-de-vie are aged in French oak barrels in cellars located on Île d’Oléron, where the maritime environment contributes to the character of the ageing process.
The Louis Pearl range includes Cognacs across different ageing categories, including VS, VSOP and XO. The brand's identity is closely connected with the history and culture of Île d’Oléron and its oyster-farming heritage. The name Louis Pearl refers to a historic association with King Louis XIV and a pearl discovered in an oyster during his visit to the island in 1660.
