Vignerons de l’Île de Ré is a winegrowers’ cooperative based in Le Bois-Plage-en-Ré on Île de Ré. The cooperative was created by local winegrowers in 1950 and officially became operational in 1951. In 2008, it joined with the island’s market-gardening cooperative to form Uniré, the union of the Île de Ré cooperatives.
The cooperative produces wines, Pineau des Charentes and Cognac from grapes grown on Île de Ré. Its Cognacs are distilled and aged on the island, reflecting the local maritime terroir. The Cognac range includes VS, VSOP and XO expressions, made from Ugni Blanc grapes and aged in French oak barrels.
The cooperative combines traditional island winemaking practices with ongoing efforts to improve product quality and develop more sustainable cultivation methods. Its winery and distillery are located on Île de Ré, where visitors can discover the production of wines, Pineau des Charentes and Cognac.
