In 1876, the Cognac industry faced a significant setback due to the phylloxera epidemic, which devastated vineyards across the region. This crisis led to the destruction of many vineyards and a severe depletion of stock. Despite these challenges, Staub Cognac demonstrated resilience, rebuilding and continuing its legacy in the production of fine cognacs.
