Overall (79)
Martell Blue Swift is a bit of a weird one, but in a good way. It’s sweeter and more bourbon-like than a typical cognac, with a lot of vanilla and toasted notes. I get why some people might find it a little too much, but I actually like that it has its own thing going on.
Aroma
I get banana first, then vanilla and a little coconut. There’s some spice in the background too, but it stays pretty soft.
Taste
It’s rounded and fruity at first, with candied fruit and a bit of ginger coming through. Then the vanilla and coconut show up, making it sweeter and softer.
Finish
The finish leaves a mix of sweet fruit, vanilla and light spice, with toasted oak coming in right at the end. It’s warm, but not too heavy, and the bourbon influence is pretty noticeable.
