Maison Boinaud is a historic, family-owned Cognac producer located in Angeac-Champagne, within the prestigious Grande Champagne region of France. Established in the 17th century, the Boinaud family has deep roots in the area, with archival records tracing their lineage and involvement in viticulture back to at least 1640, when Pierre Boisneau was active in local affairs.
Over the centuries, the Boinaud family has built a remarkable legacy. Today, the estate spans over 600 hectares of vineyards, making it the largest family-owned vineyard in the Cognac region. The primary grape variety grown is Ugni Blanc, which is renowned for producing high-quality eaux-de-vie.
Maison Boinaud operates one of the most extensive distilleries in the region, featuring 41 traditional copper pot stills. This setup allows the house to oversee the full production process—grape cultivation, fermentation, distillation, aging, and bottling—all within their estate. This level of vertical integration ensures complete control over quality and consistency across all expressions of their Cognac.
In addition to producing Cognac under its own name, Maison Boinaud manages several other prestigious brands, such as Cognac De Luze and Cognac J. Dupont. Each of these offers a unique approach to style and flavor, while remaining true to the high standards of the Boinaud family tradition.
The house remains in the hands of the Boinaud family, led by cousins Charles and Rémi Boinaud. They continue to push the legacy forward, combining respect for time-honored methods with modern innovations. Maison Boinaud is not only operational but thriving, and it remains a symbol of excellence, tradition, and innovation in the world of Cognac.
