François Peyrot Cognac is a family-owned estate located in the Grande Champagne region, the premier cru of Cognac. The estate, known as "Logis des Bergeronnettes," spans 25 hectares of vineyards dedicated to producing high-quality cognac.
The Peyrot family's involvement in viticulture dates back to 1893 with Jean Baptiste, the great-grandfather of the current generation. However, it was in 1956 that Jean and Mathilde Peyrot began distilling and producing cognac from their 7-hectare vineyard, initially supplying regional wine merchants. In 1970, their son François and his wife Gisèle launched their own brand, selling the first bottle under the name "Cognac François Peyrot" in July 1971.
