Egréteau Cognac is a family-owned brand with a long-standing heritage rooted in the heart of the Cognac region. The company was founded by the Egréteau family, who have been involved in the production of high-quality cognac for several generations. The house’s origins date back to the 19th century when the Egréteau family began cultivating vineyards and crafting exceptional eaux-de-vie in the region's renowned terroir. Over time, the brand gained a reputation for producing premium, carefully aged cognacs with a focus on elegance and complexity.
The estate, located in the Grande Champagne area – one of the most prestigious crus in the Cognac region – benefits from an ideal climate and rich soil, perfect for producing the exceptional grapes that are essential to making a top-tier cognac. Egréteau is committed to traditional methods of production, relying on time-honored techniques passed down through generations, including double distillation and aging in oak barrels. The family prides itself on maintaining full control of the process, from grape harvest to the final blend, ensuring the distinct flavors of their cognacs shine through.
Known for its meticulous craftsmanship, Egréteau Cognac offers a range of expressions, from younger, fruit-forward varieties to deeply complex, aged bottles that showcase the full potential of the eaux-de-vie. Their signature cognacs are often characterized by smooth, refined textures and rich aromas that develop complexity over time, with notes of dried fruits, spices, and subtle oak.
The brand continues to operate today, with the Egréteau family leading the business through modern innovation while honoring the deep-rooted traditions that made their name. Egréteau Cognac is sought after by connoisseurs and collectors for its authenticity and quality, remaining a cherished example of the finest Cognac craftsmanship. The house also remains committed to sustainability, ensuring its vineyards and production methods are in harmony with the environment, thus preserving the region’s legacy for future generations.
