Domaine du Puits Faucon is a distinguished family-owned estate located in Burie, within the Borderies cru of France's Cognac-producing region. The Bouillard family, now in its fourth generation under the guidance of Daniel Bouillard, has been cultivating this land since 1886. Daniel's deep-rooted connection to the area is evident, as he was born and raised in Burie, following in the footsteps of his ancestors who were passionate winegrowers.
The estate spans 37 hectares, predominantly planted with Ugni Blanc grapes, and is committed to sustainable viticulture practices. Since 2020, Domaine du Puits Faucon has been certified with High Environmental Value (HVE), reflecting their dedication to environmental stewardship. The vineyard benefits from the unique terroir of the Borderies, the smallest cru in the Cognac appellation, known for its distinct floral notes and roundness.
Domaine du Puits Faucon offers a range of artisanal products, including VS, VSOP, and XO cognacs, as well as white and rosé Pineau des Charentes. Their VSOP cognac, aged for 7-10 years in French oak barrels, is celebrated for its delightful floral intensity with hints of honey, quince, and pear. The XO cognac, aged for 20 years, is renowned for its complexity and depth, earning accolades such as a gold medal at the Concours Général de Paris in 2014. Additionally, their "Tentation Céleste" offers a unique sparkling Pineau experience, appreciated for its freshness and lightness.
Visitors to the estate can immerse themselves in the winemaking process through guided tours of the vineyard and facilities. The domaine is open year-round by appointment, offering a unique opportunity to engage with the rich heritage and craftsmanship of this esteemed cognac house.
