Brard Blanchard is a distinguished cognac house located in Boutiers-Saint-Trojan, within the Charente region of France. The estate spans 23 hectares of vineyards and 7 hectares of grain fields, all cultivated organically since 1972. This transition to organic farming was initiated by Jacques Brard Blanchard, who sought a healthier alternative to conventional agricultural practices after experiencing adverse health effects from chemical treatments.
Under the stewardship of Sophie Brard Blanchard, the family continues to produce a variety of products, including red and white wines, Pineau des Charentes, and a selection of cognacs. Their cognacs, such as the Vieille Réserve and XO, are crafted from a blend of Ugni Blanc and Colombard grapes, aged for over 30 years in French Limousin oak barrels. This aging process imparts rich flavors and complexity to the spirits.
Visitors to the estate can explore the 19th-century farmhouse, witness the distillation process, and taste the range of organic products offered. The commitment to organic farming and traditional production methods ensures that Brard Blanchard cognacs stand out for their quality and authenticity.
