Bel Ange Cognac is a distinguished family-owned estate located in Échebrune, within the Petite Champagne cru of France's Cognac region. The Lheritaud family's viticultural heritage spans over four generations, beginning when they started cultivating vines around their property in Échebrune. Today, the estate is managed by Dominic and Aymeric Lheritaud, who continue to uphold the family's commitment to producing high-quality cognacs.
The estate's vineyards cover 23 hectares of prime Petite Champagne terroir, with 90% planted with Ugni Blanc grapes, the primary varietal used in cognac production. The remaining vineyards are dedicated to other grape varieties for Pineau des Charentes, a regional fortified wine. This strategic cultivation allows Bel Ange to produce a diverse range of products, including cognacs and Pineau des Charentes.
Bel Ange Cognac offers a selection of expressions that showcase the unique characteristics of the Petite Champagne region:
– VSOP (Very Superior Old Pale): A well-balanced cognac with a harmonious blend of floral and fruity notes, aged to achieve a refined complexity. – XO Suprême Sélectionné: Aged for an extended period, this cognac presents rich aromas and a smooth, lingering finish, appealing to connoisseurs seeking depth and sophistication. – Extra Paradisiaque: This exceptional cognac has been patiently aged for 30 years in the estate's Paradisiaque cellar, resulting in a spirit with unparalleled depth and an exquisite bouquet.
